Is gravity an option for healing?
In an article in Human Kinetics, the author indicates that gravity provides your muscles with resistance, which helps your muscles become stronger. At Start to Finish Spine Care we provide more options to help you recover from your back, spine, and neck conditions and we’ll use all the available tools, including gravity.

Working with gravity
Annette Lang states, “Free weights (dumbbells and barbells) add resistance to exercises, thus stimulating your muscles to gain in strength, size, or endurance, depending on how you tailor the exercises to your individual goals. She adds, “Gravity is still pulling straight down, so sometimes when using free weights you have to manipulate your body’s position relative to gravity in order to get a good exercise.”
When you challenge your body to return to its normal range of motion, and you have more options available, you gain strength. With Dr. Sara Atalla, the health options we provide include medical physical therapy, and with our strategic partnerships, we provide rehabilitative services to give you strength training, trigger point injections to reduce pain, and we offer enjoyable and fun classes taught by top-notch yoga and Tai Chi instructors.
With exercise, the challenges of managing your spine health are easier. Spine management requires collaboration between you, your body, your physician, and just possibly our old friend gravity.
Even if gravity is not kind to apples, we may have a lot to thank Sir Isaac Newton for because with his discovery, our muscles now recognize who to thank for strength training that uses those heavy metal barbells. What, you thought we’d “resist” this joke? Join us at Start to Finish Spine Care for better results and more options.
